Refund Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Refunds are set and issued by the organizer of each event, not by Eventasaurus. This page explains where to find an event's policy, how to request a refund, what happens to the platform fee, and what we guarantee when an event is cancelled.
1. The organizer sets the policy
Eventasaurus is the ticketing platform; the event organizer (“Organizer”) is the merchant of record and produces the event. Each Organizer sets their own refund and exchange rules — some offer full refunds up to a cutoff date, some offer exchanges or credit only, and some sell strictly non-refundable tickets.
The applicable policy is the one shown on the event or festival page at the time you bought, and it is repeated in your order confirmation email. Read it before you purchase. Where an Organizer has not published a policy, tickets should be treated as non-refundable except in the cancellation situations described in section 4.
2. How to request a refund
- Contact the Organizer first. Their contact email appears on the event page and at the bottom of your order confirmation. Include your order number, the email address you used at checkout, and what you are asking for.
- Give them a few business days. Most organizers are small teams and answer within a week; response times slow down in the days immediately before an event.
- If you cannot reach them, contact us at support@eventasaurus.app with the same details. We can confirm your order exists, put you in touch with the Organizer, and escalate on your behalf. We cannot overrule an Organizer’s published policy, but we do act when an Organizer is unreachable or an event was not delivered.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe. Depending on your bank, the money typically appears within 5 to 10 business days. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
3. The platform fee
The platform fee (1% of the order total, $1.00 minimum per order) is paid by the Organizer out of their sale. It is not added to your price, so a full refund returns everything you paid.
When an Organizer refunds through Eventasaurus, we return our platform fee to them in the same proportion (all of it on a full refund, a share on a partial one). Stripe’s own processing fees on a refunded transaction are governed by Stripe’s terms and are usually not returned to the Organizer. Free tickets carry no platform fee.
4. Cancelled, postponed, and materially changed events
Cancelled events: full refund. If an event or festival is cancelled outright and not rescheduled, ticket and pass holders are entitled to a full refund of what they paid. This overrides any “all sales final” language in an Organizer’s policy. Refunds come from the Organizer, who received the ticket revenue in their own Stripe account; Eventasaurus lets them refund every order in one step when they cancel, and if an Organizer is unresponsive we will help you reach them and press for the refund.
Postponed or rescheduled events. Tickets normally carry over to the new date automatically. If the new date does not work for you, you may ask the Organizer for a full refund before the new date.
Materially changed events. Line-ups, presenters, and session schedules change; a single substitution is not usually grounds for a refund. If the event moves to a different city, or the substance of what you bought changes fundamentally, contact the Organizer — most will offer a refund or exchange in that situation.
5. Passes, reservations, and sessions
A festival pass is refundable under the pass’s own terms, which are shown when you buy it. Cancelling a session reservation made with a pass frees up that spot for another attendee — it does not refund the pass, because you are still entitled to everything else the pass covers.
Once a ticket or pass has been scanned at check-in, it has been used and is no longer refundable, except where the Organizer cancels remaining programming.
6. Duplicate charges and errors
If you were charged twice for the same ticket, or an order failed but the money left your account, email support@eventasaurus.app with the order number and the date. Genuine duplicate charges and processing errors are refunded in full regardless of the Organizer’s policy.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact the Organizer, and then us, before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback can invalidate the ticket and takes weeks to resolve. The Organizer can almost always sort it out faster directly.
Disputes are handled by the Organizer, who received the payment in their own Stripe account. We can give the Organizer the order, delivery and check-in records to respond. Legitimate disputes are always honored, and nothing here limits your rights under card network rules or consumer protection law.
8. Our role and limits
Refunds are paid by the Organizer from their own Stripe account. Eventasaurus sends the refund when the Organizer approves it, but we don’t pay refunds ourselves and we don’t insure events. Our responsibility is limited as described in our Terms of Service. If an Organizer refuses a refund you believe you are owed, tell us — repeated failure to honor this policy is grounds for removing an Organizer from the platform.
